Sega's legendary beat'em up series in its second installment. The characters are bigger, the quest is longer and the enemies are.....well....as they were before....just bigger. Everything that was done in the first, is done here, and better.

What's it all about?
It's a beat'em up of epic proportions. Using one of the four selectable characters, you'll hit the streets and beat the living fuck out of anything that gets in your way. You can use combos, grabs, special moves and even weapons to make your way through a level while jammin' out to the techno beat!

Graphics - Awesome! The sprites are huge and well animated with lots of detail! The backgrounds are equally as detailed and there is a lot of interaction with them(kicking over cones, trash cans and tables).
Sound - Jammin! Yuzo really outdid himself this time with the techno tunes coming out of this cart! The sound effects are equally as good with the usual assortment of grunts, screams, and slams.
Control - Great! Your character behaves and does everything its told. Remember, its up to you to get the backdrops, head butts and throws down....
AI - Fair, the enemies don't gang up too much and when they do your special moves will get you out of it. Beware of the "Spinal Crash" though...
Replay value - With various difficulty settings and four characters to pick from you will never stop playing! A true classic in every aspect!
Tips for better gaming experiences:
If you're playing with a friend, or find the game to be a bit too challenging with the lack of continues, give the Stage Select code a try. This way, when you die your final death, you can choose the stage you were on, or simply skip to another. It will also let you set your player stock to nine instead of the default maximum of five.

Stage Select:
While holding down A and B on controller two, hit start on controller one to go to the Options screen.

My rating: 100(out of 100) - Four characters, amazing graphics and phenomenally good gameplay make this the BEST beat'em up ever made. If you do not own it, you should be ashamed.
GamePro gave it: 5.0(graphics), 5.0(sound), 4.5(control), 5.0(funfactor)(out of 5)

Cat's meow:
Cool, a game where I can beat the hell out of humans! I like it, four paws up!

Time for the Max-special...
Time to beat up the 10 year old kid with the knife...
Not even the robots can withstand Blaze's hot ass.
Nothing like a fiery fist, straight to the nuts!
Hmmm...:
The amazing techno blast that Yuzo gives us in this game is considered by many to be the best soundtrack for a Genesis game(ever)! Click here, or here for various samples...
